He slept through the night! Monday, May 28, 2007
Benjamin slept from 7:30 last night until 5 this morning. He never fussed once! This is definitely a sleep record for him. I just wish that I had gone to bed earlier than I did!

Moving CAN be fun Sunday, May 27, 2007
Okay...moving is NOT fun for us, but Benjamin has done a fabulous job of "making do" with what he has to play with. Since we're just trying to keep him happy, we haven't really been sticklers on rules (in case you couldn't tell). Of course, I use the term "rules" pretty loosely with a 9 month old baby...he rules us, for the most part!
This one is just for the cuteness factor:
And this one, just because it's really funny. Andrew brought Benjamin this shirt home from his Seattle trip a few weeks ago. What a vulgarian!

We're here. We're busy. We're adapting. We're still sleeping on an air mattress...so this is all you get. We'll be "back," soon.

buh-bye Friday, May 18, 2007
We have moved out of our house, and are spending out last night in Colorado in a Courtyard Marriott close to the Denver airport.
Andrew's mom and dad flew here today, and began heading east in my car. They were in Kansas when we called a couple of hours ago. For those who haven't experienced driving through Kansas...it's REAAAALLLLLY boring.
We're assuming our 21 lb alarm clock will have us up well before the sun, so Andrew is planning to get a very early start on the drive, and Benjamin and I will take the shuttle from the hotel to the airport to make our morning flight to BWI.
It's not even 7:30 here, and we're sitting in a dark room, because Benjamin is sweetly sleeping in his pack n' play. We just opened a bottle of wine, and plan to watch cable tv in bed until we retire around 9...oh yeah, I bet you are jealous of our wild night!
Siging out from Colorado!!!!!!!!!

Sad News Thursday, May 17, 2007
You may remember a post, awhile back, about the Dos Equis chiminea that Andrew won. It is no more. The movers broke it getting everything situated on the truck today.
I knew exactly where it was going to go on the new porch, too.
Boo.

Happy Mother's Day! Sunday, May 13, 2007
We had, for the most part, an absolutely lovely Mother's Day here. Benjamin was SO excited about this special holiday, that he woke up to begin celebrations at 4:45 am. Luckily, after my failed attempts to rock him back to sleep, Andrew volunteered to get out bed, and I GOT TO SLEEP IN.
Until 6 am...it was WONDERFUL. No seriously, that is sleeping in lately!
Benjamin was beyond sweet all day, he napped like he's never napped before, and was so much fun to be around.
I got to open up cards from both of my boys (Benjamin even "signed" his!) and they gave me the most beautiful ring ever. I cannot even begin to describe how much I love it!
We went to Mimi's for brunch, and Andrew even remembered to call ahead, so we were able to get a table within a couple of minutes. We had deluxe omelets and mimosas, and Benjamin ordered a pancake. The last time we attempted to eat there was a few months ago, and we had to have our food packaged up because Benjamin really wasn't in the mood to be out, so our semi-leisurely breakfast was a welcome change.
We ran some errands, did some things around the house (our packers are coming tomorrow to pack everything up...so we HAD to get it done), and just hung out and enjoyed the gorgeous day. I ended up with a migrane around 3, so that was, basically, the end of my day.
Here are a few pictures from our afternoon:
Benjamin's days of posing for the camera seem to be on hold...he is more interested in attacking the camera now.
Having a deep conversation on the front lawn.
My favorite picture from the impromptu photo shoot.
Hugs.
and kisses.
We hope all of the moms in our lives enjoyed their special day as well.
Love,

Last day! Thursday, May 10, 2007
Today is (perhaps, was) Andrew's last day at work! He will, technically, still be in the Air Force until July, but is taking all of his vacation days now, so doesn't have to go into the office anymore!
Nine days until the move!

Dear Colorado, Sunday, May 06, 2007
Snow in May is dumb. I cannot wait until we move. Thirteen days and counting.
Addendum: We now (8:32 PM) have about an inch of snow on the ground...it's still coming down, too. Boo.

Time for a haircut? Sunday, May 06, 2007
Benjamin's hair is growing REALLY fast these days, and I am having a really hard time bringing myself to get it cut. In the past 3 days, 4 people have told me I have the sweetest little girl, including one person who, in Italian, said "Face of an angel." Um, that's a boy-face, if I've ever seen one, but for some reason, all of a sudden, people think he is a girl.
Here are my thoughts on the upcoming haircut:
- He is too young
- He will never sit still long enough for it to be cut
- I will suffer panic attacks worrying about how he'll look after he wiggles around for an entire haircut
- He is too young
- Superstitious people have told me never to cut before the first birthday
- Did I mention that he is too young and I seem to be overly emotional about it?
We went to get some professional pictures done today; and he is looking a bit shaggy. Please take a minute to vote(below) on whether or not you think I should cut his hair. All opinions are greatly appreciated, and feel free to elaborate in the comments section.
I have NO idea why I am making such a big deal out of this...

Benjamin is 8 months! Tuesday, May 01, 2007
Yesterday marked the 8 month point in Benjamin's life. It's been total chaos around here, but this month included sitting up on his own, army crawling, real (sort of) crawling when motivated by food and grown-up toys, eating 3 solid meals a day, eating cookies/snacks, pulling up to a standing position on anything and everything, sleeping through (most of) the night, and finally taking some decent naps!
He also got really comfortable playing with the other kids at the gym's daycare, got his first car which he is no longer scared of the noise, started riding in his big-boy carseat full time, and (sniff) outgrew the Fisher Price papasan swing that saved our lives for the past 8 months.
New activities include trying to balance on his feet (quite unsuccessfully), and charming all the ladies in the grocery store, now that he rides in the cart. He gives us hugs and kisses...and the BEST part of the month, he said his first word: Poop. I kid you not.
