Awesome Friday, July 30, 2010
It's no secret that I am a BIG fan of Amazon.
We buy everything from pull-ups to books, running shoes to technology from them. We've been Prime members since before we were married.
Amazon knows me. So well, in fact, that while I've been wrestling with the balance of being a full-time working mom (mostly at home), but having Benjamin home for the summer, with only a day or two of nanny help each week, internally, they are busy putting together a recommended reading list for me.
In my spare time, they recommend I read this book.
It cracks me up. And now I need to figure out where my kid is, because it's been quiet for a few too many minutes.

Mad Men! Wednesday, July 14, 2010
Taking the lead from the lovely L, I decided to waste a few minutes (yes, I posted about pressing deadlines 10 minutes ago...this is my short sanity break), and Mad-Men myself.
Try it out here!

Ta-daaaaaa! Wednesday, July 14, 2010
So, Benjamin has been keeping himself busy in the other room while I work on a couple of projects that have quickly approaching deadlines.
He just came into the office to see if I would watch his contraption and how it "magically works."
I obliged.
B: OH NO. It didn't work I am supposed to ring the bell, and honk the horn {of my trike} at the same time, and that shoulda triggered the yo-yo {attached to the front of the bike}.
Me: What does the yo yo do?
B: It's SUPPOSED to turn night night doggie into a monkey. It's worked every time that you were in the other room. Hmmmmm.
He is so funny.

Beatin' the heat Thursday, July 08, 2010
Since I had to work all day, and our new (AWESOME!) nanny wasn't available today due to prior engagements, Benjamin was a total trooper.
We decided to bring out the easel and the washable paints onto the patio this afternoon, and he worked on a "collage for daddy," which is hanging on our fridge now.
He was parked under the shade of the upstairs deck, but had quick access to the hose in case it got too hot.
You KNOW it's hot when your friends from Tampa are visiting and desperate to get back to a humid FL summer!
PS: Notice all the green over on the left? Boo-yeah...that'd be my garden. The farthest right is the squash, next to it is the beans I planted LAST week, and then you can't see the rest, which is mostly herbs, flowers and tomatoes. I am patting self on back.

Heard on the walk home, tonight... Thursday, July 08, 2010
Benjamin: Mom! You've got to stop calling it a forehead. You can't call it a forehead until August 31st. I only have a three-head until then.
The guy on the street couldn't contain his laughter.

Benjaminism of the day... Friday, July 02, 2010
Me: Yikes! Something is wrong with the sunscreen bottle. We probably need more!
B: Yep. I've been thinking we should probably get some more, too.
Me: Cool. I'll get some later at CVS.
B: I think it'd be better if we got it directly from the sunscreen factory, because then we'll know what kind of ingredients are in it, and how fresh it is.
Me: Um, or CVS.
No clue where that came from.

Smart, Pretty, Awkward Thursday, July 01, 2010
Smart, Pretty, Awkward is another blog that I enjoy a lot. I love the concise, micro-thoughts that are actually useful and fun at the same time.
Enjoy!
