Heading north (again)! Wednesday, August 29, 2007 We are celebrating the big FIRST BIRTHDAY up north with my family. Benjamin and I are headed up to Syracuse tomorrow morning, so we can celebrate Emily's big birthday, and Andrew is driving up after work (1/2 day!) on Friday. Benjamin's (not so) big bash is being held at my grandmother's house on Saturday afternoon. If you're in the Syracuse area (and know us) we'd love to have you join us! Your fly is down. Friday, August 24, 2007 I've had some issues with keeping my fly up lately. I don't know if it's because Benjamin usually joins me in the bathroom and I am in a hurry to close the seat, because all of my pants have crappy zippers, because I suffer from a major case of "mom brain," or because I am even more lazy than I had realized. Any way you look at it, it's a problem. They took some great pictures, and even gave them to me on a cd! Here is one of my favorites!  ~Courtney posted at 7:40:00 PM Another NY trip Sunday, August 19, 2007 Sorry for the lack of posts these days...we've been busy! I just got back from a whirlwind girlie-weekend in Rochester. Holly, Elise and I drove up very late on Friday night, and got back around 4:30 this afternoon. We spent yesterday afternoon at Melissa's baby shower, and then had a slumber party at Rebecca and Bryan's fabulous new house. Melissa and Erik, as well as Fran stopped by to visit for awhile. Too much fun was had. It was great! However, I am SO thankful to just get to be at home next weekend. I've driven/been in a car for about 2400 miles in less than 2 weeks, and I am REALLY tired! Andrew and Benjamin had a blast this weekend. They went to the zoo with Dave, Stephanie and Jonathan. It sounds like they had a really good time. Did I mention that I am glad I am staying in town next weekend? Or that I am tired? Monday, August 13, 2007 After a fun, but very long week away, we are back at home. Last Tuesday, Benjamin and I drove up to Potsdam (with a visit at my grandmother's house on the way). We rolled in around dinner time, and ordered (what else?) some Sergi's pizzas for dinner. Wednesday, we hung out at home, ran some errands, and my mom prepared a fabulous birthday celebration dinner for me. We had my favorite, eggplant parm. There was also steak and very good sweet corn. Dinner was wrapped up with some carrot cake (another fave of mine!). On Friday, I put Benjamin to bed, and got ready to head to Burlington for Leah and Pete's wedding. While checking last minute info that I had in my email, I learned that Tera was unable to make it up to VT, and Megan wasn't going to be getting in until 3 in the morning. To say I was bummed would be an understatement. While crying to Andrew on the phone, we decided that he'd drive up to VT overnight...we're getting too old for these random decisions, but did it anyhow. He rolled into town at 7 am. Eeek. Saturday, Andrew, Megan and I shopped around town, got some new loot, and had a fun lunch at a local brewery. We went back to the hotel room, watched Knocked Up, then got ready for the wedding. The ceremony was in a beautiful Unitarian Church built in the 1800s. Everything was so nice. Leah and Pete both looked fabulous, and the ceremony was absolutely perfect.  We walked over to the reception following the ceremony, where we got to enjoy great food and drinks, and even better company. The entire evening was fabulous! Here are a few shots of the gang (still REALLY missing Tera):      Benjamin had a BLAST with my mom and Ron. They visited with friends, played outside for hours and hours, and had grilled cheese at the little diner in Colton. Benjamin continued to work on his vocabulary, saying new things like "good throw," and "kitty doggie."  We packed up things in Potsdam yesterday afternoon (Andrew and Megan drove south to get Megan to JFK Airport after a slight-flight-mishap, and to get Andrew back home in time to rest before work today), and spent the night at my grandmother's house. We woke up early this morning and headed home, rolling in around 12:20. Benjamin slept a bulk of the 6 hours in the car, and when we got home, he had far more energy than I did. Hope everyone is doing well! ~Courtney posted at 5:22:02 PM Home Alone Wednesday, August 08, 2007 Courtney's up in New York now, and she took Benjamin with her. Leah's wedding is coming up on Saturday, and we wanted to give Benjamin a chance to get settled in and comfortable. So Courtney gets to hang with her family, Benjamin gets to visit a bunch of his relatives, and I get to watch movies and do housework. Everybody wins! ~Andrew posted at 1:32:57 PM Great day! Saturday, August 04, 2007 I had such a great birthday. Andrew and Benjamin gave me an AWESOME Macbook Pro this morning, and we've had so much fun playing with it today.  They also picked out a fabulous ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery...poor Benjamin went to bed hours before that came out, but I suppose he can have a couple of bites tomorrow, since we'll be eating it for days!
